First I cut two pieces

of mdf about 4"x18"

and drilled for 1/4"

threaded rod.

Space the holes so

that the distance is

larger than your

largest model. Glue on

rubber or cork

as cushion.

Nut, washer and rod

all glued together with

Cyano.

Cover edge of mdf

with hardwood.

Mount to body with

1/4 x 20 star knobs

or wing nuts. Holes

on knob side are re-drilled

at 5'16" for a little

adjustment.

Layout end graft on

thicker stock. 1/2" or

3/4"

Cut outside lines on

band saw.

Rough cut wedge pattern.

Carefully sand to

lines.

Align and place end graft

on back with carpet tape.

Place hardwood strips

against wedge and mark

 for drilling and slotting.

Harwood glides slotted

for adjusting to various

body depths ready to

 mount to top edge of

fixture.

Router with bushing

and down cut spiral bit.

Pattern bit could be

used too but guide rails

 would have to be thicker.

I allowed for bushing thickness.

Route cavity.

Glue end graft pattern to plywood L to facilitate

holding in vice.

Attach rough end graft

with carpet tape.

Trim with flush cutting

bit. Bearing on bottom.
